I recently picked up a violin at an auction which label reads "Sanctus Seraphin Utinanhs Venetijs Ann 17(Written 34)." The spelling errors were almost a dead giveaway that this violin is a copy-and the fact that it lacks his other trademarks also helped-but can anyone tell me how common a copy of his is and an estimate on how much it might be worth? My guess is that this violin was made in the 19th century or earlier, not sure if it is factory or handmade, and has a very resonant and open sound. Although, it does have a decent-sized chip on the edge, but I don’t think it is anything threatening to the instrument.
idk, but you should watch these, they could helpp you:
