Do You know anything about Violins?

on October 19, 2009

I’m thinking of buying a violin next week after our garage sale, I can’t afford the Brand new ones from The Music stores,

So were going to the pawn shop to buy one for 60-70$
i know its the pawn shop but its the only affordable place i can go to…besides its been my dream instrument forever.

My question is, If you know anything about violins please tell me *cause i don’t want to get cheated into buying some cheap Broken instrument that looks OKAY*

the strings, the body, the wand…thing? i dunno anything will help

Here are some sites that I have found helpful. Be careful in buying a pawn shop instrument. I haven’t seen a lot of nice instruments come from there; not saying it’s impossible, but you just need to proceed with caution. Another possibility would be to search your local paper for a used student instrument. It would be optimal to have a teacher or at least a violinist come with you to look at instruments.
