I bought a Jamaican Instrument at a yard sale.
I don’t know how to play it, and i can’t find it online ANYWHERE!!!
It is long…and made of bamboo. it has three string type things, and it says Jamaican violin on it. I also came with two sticks that might serve as violin bows. I really appreciate the help, i will post a picture of it in a little bit.
LOL ! Thats a "tourist" violin….not really a legit instrument per se.
The two sticks fit under the strings at the front & back to give it tension, then a third stick ( made of the same bamboo ) is wetted slightly and ran across the strings to make sounds…you can adjust the tension sticks to get different sounds. Not easy to play with any consistency, so good luck !
