Anything you need to know about violins.

How much is it to tune and string a violin at a shop?

on August 26, 2009

Yes, as the question asks.
Just about how much, an average price
thanks =)

I do it myself, and stringing an instrument is not difficult to do. BUT, if you can’t, most music stores will do it for free as long as your purchase the strings. A good set of strings can go for over 100 dollars. The cheaper brands [like Red Label] go for about 15-20 dollars per set.

    The main cost is the strings; if you don’t know how to do it yourself, you could have it done and I don’t think they’d charge you very much.

    Tuning is done so frequently, you have to learn to do that yourself.
