One day, I took my violin out of her case. I didn’t do anything that might have chipped some paint on the violin. But I saw a little on the front near the f-hole. I really can’t afford going into a shop t have it repaired. Any suggestions?
Do not worry about it. Have a look at some really old and beautiful violins. Half the varnish is often worn off and it will be covered in scratches. It does not affect the sound at all.
If it is a modern cheap violin it is just polyurethane varnish anyway so you could touch it up yourself if it is worrying you.
If it is an expensive violin then it is probably a spirt or oil varnish and this is best left to the professionals.
