Violins

Anything you need to know about violins.

I want to start taking adult beginner’s Violin and Piano lessons in London. Any recommendations for schools?

on September 29, 2009

I have thought about adult colleges such as City Lit, it seems to be held in pretty high regard from what I’ve read. I would appreciate any other recommendations on schools and colleges that offer violin and piano lessons that range from reasonably priced to cheap and also have a good reputation.

Thank you in advance.

You normally learn an instrument from a private tutor, not at a school. Your local library should have a list of violin teachers in your area.

Andrew L has the right idea, go to your local library and ask
them to help you find the information that you want you will
find them very helpful.Private tutors are very good but do not
under-estimate music schools and colleges where you can
get individual tuition but you also get to play in groups and
small orchestras. If you have any talent the shool will find it
and perhaps arrange a grant for you depending on your
circumstances. You don’t say how old you are but music once
learned will last last you for-ever, maybe pass your new gained
knowledge to your children, may you live long enough to do that PS
